The aluminum charge air pipes replace the OEM plastic pipes, which tend to burst. This defect can in the worst case lead to engine damage due to aspirated fragments. The charge pipe made of aluminum has an increased diameter compared to the original. This reduces air turbulence and at the same time increases the air flow. This leads to a faster response of the turbocharger and a higher maximum possible power. The engine software does not have to be retuned in this case.
