The standard blow-off valves on these vehicles are made of plastic, as opposed to the highly durable machined billet construction of the Kompact. This prevents the turbo from realising its full potential, resulting in a loss of power. The standard valves are often unable to cope with the damaging supercharger shocks, and as the vehicle ages, the plastic becomes brittle and can break, leading to severe boost pressure losses.
