Mahle forged pistons-Set suitable for BMW E46 M3 & Z4 M S54B32

High-performance pistons from Mahle for BMW E46 M3 3.2L S54B32 engines. Contrary to popular belief, the Mahle Powerpak are not forged pistons! Mahle uses its own material called M142P for production. Although the piston are partly forged and are significantly more stable than standard pistons, they are not forged pistons in the sense that they are manufactured using a die-casting process. The piston is given a phosphate coating to prevent micro blowholes, particularly in the area of the piston rings and the piston pin. In addition, Mahles' patented GRAFAL coating is applied to the piston skirt. This minimises friction between piston and the cylinder wall. With this piston it is quite easy to reduce the compression and at the same time obtain more power and durability.
