Forged high-performance pistons from JE Piston for all VW 1.8L 16V engines. The specified compression is in conjunction with a 1mm cylinder head gasket. Price for a set of JE piston without coating, but this can be specially manufactured by JE for an extra charge. Illustration shows JE piston with special coatings on the piston skirt and piston crown. The special coating can be ordered separately from us. (see below) As the standard connecting rods cannot withstand a power increase from 300 hp, we recommend using steel connecting rods. From a boost pressure of 2 bar, reinforced TURBO piston pins must be used. (see below) For piston marked with a Q in the design, adjustments must be made to the oil spray nozzles of the piston crown cooling system.
