
VW VR6 & R32 manual race chain tensioner BAR-TEK®
Manual race chain tensioner for all VW 2.8-2.9L VR6 engines. Our adjustable chain tensioner replaces the vulnerable original hydraulic chain tensioner. The original chain tensioner tends to tighten the chain too much at higher engine speeds, which means that the timing is no longer 100% correct. This leads to a loss of power and increased wear. With our manual chain tensioner, you can precisely adjust the tension of the timing chain. VR6 Turbo conversions. Instructions: Remove the ARP 12-point lock nut. Turn the piston fully into the extended position. Insert the housing and piston into the timing cover and tighten. Ensure that the aluminium sealing washer is properly seated against the timing cover. Screws Screw in the piston hand-tight without tightening the ARP lock nut. Then turn the motor by hand in the forward direction while continuing to screw in the piston hand-tight. Hold the housing in position with the square end. Finally, tighten the ARP lock nut to 25 Nm without tightening the tensioner further in its position.
